DIRECTIONS
- Set up includes: -
- Peg board centered in front of the client
- Box of pegs needs to be situated on the side of the tested hand
- Test first the dominant hand
- Ask client to stabilize the peg board with non-dominant hand during the assessment
- Instruct client:
- First, the pegs are taken one at a time using only one hand (right or left) and placed in the hole until the board is filled
- Second, the pegs are removed from the board using only one hand (the hand being assessed), the other hand is used to stabilize the board
- Third, you will have client do a practice test and encourage to be performed as fast as possible
- Fourth, ask client to perform the test and encourage to increase speed during the process
- Have the client perform once the test on dominant hand and once on the non-dominant hand
